Highland Office Equipment has just completed a major office refurbishment in response to growing demand for its products and services across the North of Scotland.

The Inverness-based company, part of the Capital Document Solutions business, will benefit from a new 847 sq ft workshop and supplies store, as well as an upgrade of the general office and showroom areas, as part of this latest £100,000 investment.

The company’s Harbour Road premises has undergone major alteration work and redecoration, new flooring and furniture are expected to be completed by the end of November.

In the past month, HOE has won three major contracts with private sector businesses in the Highlands. These latest equipment supply contracts, worth a total of £115,000, will see the company provide clients with 90 new multifunctional devices (MFDs) and printers as well as print management software.

Additional service provision, including comprehensive national maintenance and training support, will add significantly to the value of these agreements over the next five years.

The company has also appointed a new sales account executive, Stephen Hoban, bringing its headcount to 32 in Inverness. HOE is also looking to recruit a further field service engineer and increase the size of its service team to 16.

Alex Main, sales director at HOE, said: “The office refurbishment will allow us to make even better use of the existing space and create a contemporary and more efficient environment to cater for increasing staff levels.

“Early in the New Year, we will be holding a series of open days for existing and prospective customers to keep them up to date with our progress, products, solutions and services and allow them to see our greatly enhanced facilities.”

The changes we are implementing will enhance the already high level of support on offer to local businesses and organisations in the private and public sectors.”

Based at Technology House, Harbour Road in Inverness, Highland Office Equipment is led by sales director Alex Main and service director Steven McLennan. The company provides photocopiers, printers, furniture, stationery, service support and office solutions to a broad range of clients.

Highland Office Equipment was acquired by Capital Document Solutions in February 2013 and is now part of the largest independently-owned office equipment supplier in Scotland. Capital employs 205 people at operations in Inverness, Aberdeen, Shetland, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
