Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) are now office equipment clients of Highland Office Equipment (HOE).

We’re pleased that HOE, as part of the Capital Document Solutions group, can provide them with excellent service.

A new case study is a great example of the benefits that can come from using Scottish Procurement’s framework agreements.

In 2018 Scottish Natural Heritage were looking to retender their multi-functional devices contract. Using Scottish Procurement’s Office Equipment Framework Agreement, SNH awarded the contract to Capital Document Solutions (CDS). A key benefit for SNH was that although CDS are an SME based in Edinburgh, they have excellent regional coverage to provide support to service centres throughout Scotland including the Highlands and Islands.

Good for business and good for the environment

Gillian Simpson, Service Delivery Manager for SNH explains why she was delighted with their solution:

“The quality of the submission was excellent, focusing on a solution that was suitable for SNH’s requirements within our Scotland-wide network of offices. CDS went that bit further, making recommendations where savings could be made on hardware options resulting in cost savings for SNH – which is always a good thing in these budget-constraint times!

“Their approach to recycling MFDs and consumables is very impressive, especially in the current climate, and was of particular interest to SNH. The standard of service since contract award has been excellent – mobilisation was effectively managed (including liaising with SNH’s out-going contractor), queries responded to promptly and the provision of management information at our first contract review meeting was impressive. SNH are delighted to be working with CDS again and look forward to a positive working relationship throughout the contract period.”

Further environmental benefits

All of the suppliers on our frameworks look to provide extra value. On this occasion the supplier’s submission didn’t just focus on cash savings, but also:

  • reducing environmental waste through remanufacturing centres.
  • aligning with Zero Waste Scotland’s Circular Economy initiative.
  • reducing overall waste.
  • following the ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ philosophy.
