We take our environment very seriously as a key management priority. Firstly, we are proud to have the Environmental Accreditation BS EN ISO 14001.
We have specific policies on waste reduction and recycling, and only supply Energy Saving equipment. Therefore, you can be assured that you are dealing with one of the most environmentally-committed firms in the industry.
Highland Office Equipment is a member of the Energy Star dealer community. We customise energy saving features in line with your energy saving objectives, and we only promote accredited products.
We recycle all waste packaging and where possible return it to the producer to ensure closed loop recycling. Our Field Engineers return all packaging to be recycled and uplifted by licensed contractors.
High mileage devices are either sold for re-use within the industry, or our Recycling Centre strips these devices for re-use of individual components. Low mileage devices are fully refurbished in our extensive workshops and re-sold. Any remaining elements are recycled.
Our digital office equipment suppliers – Ricoh, HP and Canon promote extensive programmes of environmental management based on pollution prevention and control, energy conservation and waste reduction, re-use and also recycling. They design products in a manner that minimises the environmental impact.
Recycling is integral. These manufacturers also offer facilities for clients to return toner cartridges directly to them to be re-used or recycled.
(Konica Minolta do offer a take back service but not directly to them – to Eos, who will charge for Bizhub returns.)
We care about our environment and so we take steps to ensure we recycle wherever re-using parts isn’t possible.
Defective parts are returned to manufacturers for recycling. Our Field Engineers remove serviceable components for return to our Recycling Centre.
We can make your devices run more efficiently, and using print management software, we can significantly reduce paper wastage. Document production has a wide-ranging environmental impact. You can take advantage of our green credentials, and also work towards achieving your organisation’s own sustainability objectives.
When devices are configured in our workshop they are set up for optimal environmental performance. Examples include duplex printing to save paper and auto standby to save power.
Finally, we hold the BSI Certificate of Registration for ISO 9001:2015 – Quality Management System. This covers the installation, repair and maintenance of office equipment and the design of internal and external training modules.
